The ins and outs of glamour photography

For a long time glamour and fashion photography were considered to be the same. Truth be told, they do have several common aspects, but the work of a glamour nude photographer is to capture some particular key feature of a model and the glamour models photos usually have a different intent than the fashion ones do. The general frame of the art women photography has been subjective to change over time, in accordance with the evolution and adjustment of the society’s frame of mind. Almost a century ago, glamour was all about beautiful women photography, mainly celebrities, while in the Second World War period, pin-ups of barely dressed movie stars took the place of young woman images. This was a huge step towards the form that glamour photography has today.

Nevertheless, the most significant barrier was crossed by the Playboy magazine, which took women art photography to an entirely different level. No publication before Playboy had given center stage to nudity and the most amazing part was that it immediately found a large audience. I believe every person, male or female, remembers the first issue of Playboy, from December 1953, showcasing the notorious actress Marilyn Monroe on its cover and within the pages of the magazine. The boost in her image came hand in hand with public scrutiny and outcry, but the bridge had already been crossed. Many other magazines followed the trend, even though the focus was slightly shifted. Every nude glamour photographer ever since has tried to keep this area of photography outside the boundaries of pornography, by learning and trying to maintain some basic guidelines in reference to glamour models photos, such as focusing the camera on her eyes, for instance, even if she is completely naked, as that grants the final photograph a classy touch. There are several techniques involved in the photographic process that lead to high quality female photo galleries and young woman images that are both enticing and elegant.

Finding this balance between sexy and stylish is also a major aspect of the glamour photography and concern for the photographer. There are plenty of glamour “wanna be” websites or galleries that are more of a humiliation and degradation for the female body than a tribute to eroticism and natural beauty. Apart from the actual model of choice and her pose, location can also help a glamour nude photographer create art through his pictures. The right set may turn out to be vital for the whole photo shoot, as it can create a perfect atmosphere of mystery, sensuality or it can express distaste and vulgarity. Not to mention that the right background can also help with the lighting and provide warmer skin tones, so that you can use as less make up as possible and preserve a certain naturalness of the model’s body and face. Nature is one of the best options for beautiful women photography, but wonders can be done in a studio also.

All in all, glamour photography is a great industry designed to emphasize the artistic side of eroticism and nudity, to fight obscenity and discourtesy, and mostly to underline the allurement of the female body in all its beauty.
